To start out I would like everyone to read I Corinthians 13: 4-8
l4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evilbut rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
The world offers many forms of "love" but is it real love. Well I would venture to say NO it is not. When we use God's word as our guide for what love is. It is easy to expose the worlds version of love, as false and honestly hopeless. Meaning it will fail, someone will be hurt, and you will be left feeling unfullfilled and empty.
The Bible takes Love and breaks it down into a simple reflection of perfect love. What Jesus shows each of us, is exactly what we are to show each other. If we choose to become the mirror of God's love, we will not only change ourselves, but those around us. To love unconditionally is a choice, and it is not based on feeling. It is based 100% on the choice to reflect God and His love.
God's love does not depend upon us or who we are. God's love shows us exactly who He is because, He loves us no matter where we are in life, what hang-up's we may have, addictions, and any other problems. We are all sinners, but he chooses to love us no matter what. God's love is unconditional. If God's love were conditional, we would have to do something to earn it However, we do not have to anything. Because God loves us from the start, sin and all. Right where we are. We need to practice this in our daily life. Model it in our families, towards friends, co-workers, and everyone we meet. Being the mirror of God's love really shows the type of person you are.
